Revolutionizing emergency response, Blinkit aims to bridge the gap in timely medical assistance.

New Delhi: In a move that could revolutionize emergency healthcare in India, Blinkit, the leading quick commerce platform, has launched a 10-minute ambulance service in Gurugram. This groundbreaking initiative aims to address the critical gap in emergency response times, a long-standing challenge in the country.

Drawing inspiration from the iconic scene in the movie “3 Idiots” where pizza delivery is guaranteed within 30 minutes while ambulance arrival times remain uncertain, Blinkit aims to provide swift and reliable emergency medical assistance. Starting with a fleet of five ambulances, the service is available to users in Gurugram through the Blinkit app.

The ambulances are equipped with essential life-saving equipment, including oxygen cylinders, AEDs, stretchers, and emergency medications. Each vehicle is staffed with a trained paramedic, an assistant, and a professional driver to ensure efficient and high-quality care during emergencies.

Blinkit founder Albinder Dhindsa announced the launch on LinkedIn, emphasizing that the service is not profit-driven but aims to be affordable and accessible to all. He also revealed plans to expand the service to other major cities across India within the next two years.

This latest venture exemplifies Blinkit’s continuous innovation beyond its core quick commerce offerings. In recent years, the company has expanded its services to include a wide range of products and services, from doorstep printouts to electronics, eyewear, and home appliances.

The 10-minute ambulance service marks a significant step towards improving emergency healthcare access and potentially saving lives. By leveraging its technology and logistics infrastructure, Blinkit aims to redefine how people access crucial medical assistance in times of need.
