New Delhi: Sony Sports Network has announced that it has secured the exclusive television and digital rights for the highly anticipated India Tour of Zimbabwe. The tour features a young Indian team set to compete in a five-match T20I series in Harare from July 6th to July 14th, 2024.
Cricket enthusiasts can look forward to live coverage of the series in four languages—English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The matches will be broadcast across multiple Sony Sports channels, including Sony Sports Ten 3 (Hindi) in both SD and HD, and Sony Sports Ten 4 (Tamil and Telugu) and Sony Sports Ten 5 (English) in both SD and HD formats.
The India Tour of Zimbabwe has generated considerable excitement, with fans eager to watch the talented Indian squad in action. This tour marks India’s return to Zimbabwe after a successful ODI series in 2022, where the Men in Blue secured a clean sweep with three consecutive wins, and Shubman Gill was named Player of the Series. Notably, the last bilateral T20I series between the two teams in Zimbabwe took place in 2016, with India winning 2-1.
The schedule for the T20I series is as follows:
1st T20: July 6, 2024, Harare
2nd T20: July 7, 2024, Harare
3rd T20: July 10, 2024, Harare
4th T20: July 13, 2024, Harare
5th T20: July 14, 2024, Harare
Sony Sports Network’s acquisition of the India Tour of Zimbabwe rights enhances its robust cricket portfolio, which includes partnerships with several major cricket boards, such as New Zealand Cricket, the England Cricket Board, and Sri Lanka Cricket.
