New Delhi: In a move that will likely be welcomed by fans of the publication, seasoned journalist Sachin Kalbag has been appointed Editor-in-Chief (Print and Digital) of the Mumbai daily Mid-Day. This marks Kalbag’s third stint at the helm of the Dainik Jagran group-owned newspaper, having previously served as Editor from 2011 to 2015.
Kalbag brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He began his career with Mid-Day itself in 1994, joining as a trainee. Over the past three decades, he has honed his journalistic skills across various prestigious publications. Following his first tenure as Editor at Mid-Day, Kalbag went on to serve as Resident Editor of The Hindu’s Mumbai edition (2015-2018) and Executive Editor of Hindustan Times (2018-2022). Most recently, he held the position of Senior Fellow at The Takshashila Institution.

Kalbag’s return to Mid-Day also encompasses oversight of the group’s weekly paper, Sunday Mid-Day, and the online platform mid-day.com. He takes over from Tinaz Nooshian, who has moved on to pursue other opportunities.
