New Delhi: Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced a leadership change in its legal department. Effective September 1, 2024, Ritesh Khosla will assume the role of General Counsel, succeeding Ashok Nambissan who is set to retire after a long and illustrious career with the company.
With a career spanning over two decades, Khosla brings a wealth of experience to the table. He began his professional journey as a practicing lawyer before joining SPNI, where he steadily climbed the ranks to become Deputy General Counsel six years ago.
His expertise encompasses a wide range of legal areas, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, complex litigation, and intellectual property rights.

In his new capacity, Khosla will oversee a multitude of responsibilities, including corporate relations, legal and regulatory affairs, secretarial functions, and standards & practices.
His role will be pivotal in managing legal risks, ensuring compliance, and acting as the company’s Ombudsperson. He will report directly to the Managing Director & CEO of Sony Pictures Networks India.
Beyond his core duties, Khosla is expected to play a crucial role in enhancing SPNI’s compliance framework, particularly in the digital and intellectual property rights domains. He will also be instrumental in strengthening the company’s legal infrastructure in international markets and overseeing its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Known for his strategic thinking and decisive legal acumen, Khosla is also recognized for his commercial mindset and ability to find solutions to complex problems while mitigating risks.
His track record of leadership in challenging legal situations has been instrumental in driving SPNI’s growth and ensuring its adherence to regulatory requirements.
