New Delhi: Amita Sachdeva, a Delhi High Court advocate, has filed a complaint against Domino’s Pizza for its recent ad campaign that plays on the popular Ganesh Chaturthi chant, “Ganapati Bappa Morya!” The ad, which features Lord Ganesha with a pizza for a head, uses a pun on the phrase, saying, “Pizza so good, even Bappa says More-Ya.”
Sachdeva, in her complaint, has raised concerns about the ad’s insensitivity towards the Hindu community. She argues that the use of Lord Ganesha in a commercial context, especially with a pun on a sacred chant, is disrespectful and could potentially offend religious sentiments.
