New Delhi: Mumbai, India – As the city gears up for the festive season of Ganesh Utsav, Swiggy Instamart has introduced a unique and innovative way to celebrate. The quick commerce platform has installed a free modak dispenser on Carter Road, offering thousands of modaks to Mumbaikars.
The dispenser, which was active on September 6th and 7th, distributed 1,000 modaks daily. This unique initiative, a collaboration between Swiggy, Havas Media, and Havas Media Tribes, has caught the attention of many.

To get a free modak, passersby simply need to ring a bell attached to the dispenser. Within seconds, a hygienically packed modak is dispensed in a box. The box also contains a QR code that directs users to Swiggy Instamart’s Ganesh Chaturthi section, where they can find a variety of pooja essentials, modak-making kits, different flavors of modaks, and eco-friendly Ganesha idols.
The dispenser’s design, along with the Marathi phrase “Ghanti Vajwa, Mithai Milwa” (ring the bell, get the sweet), has made it a popular attraction on social media. This initiative not only adds a festive touch to the city but also provides a convenient way for Mumbaikars to enjoy the traditional sweet associated with Ganesh Utsav.
