Food delivery app Zomato urges customers to be understanding and patient with its delivery riders in a new ad campaign that highlights the dangers of pressuring them to speed up.

New Delhi: Food delivery giant Zomato has launched a new ad campaign urging its customers to be patient and understanding with its delivery executives. The campaign comes in response to the increasing number of incidents where customers have pressured riders to deliver orders faster, often leading to accidents.

In a poignant minute-long ad, Zomato depicts the potential consequences of rushing delivery executives. The ad shows a rider who, while trying to meet a customer’s urgent delivery request, is involved in an accident. The rider is left injured and his bike is damaged.

Zomato emphasizes that pressuring delivery executives to drive recklessly is not only unethical but also illegal under the Motor Vehicles Act. The company has urged its customers to be mindful of this law and to avoid putting the riders’ safety at risk.

“At Zomato, the safety of our delivery partners and customers is our top priority,” the company said in a statement. “We encourage our customers to be patient and understanding while waiting for their orders. Together, we can create a safer environment for everyone involved in the delivery process.”

With a 16% year-on-year growth in orders during FY24, Zomato has become a popular choice for food delivery in India. However, the company’s latest campaign highlights the importance of responsible consumer behavior and the need to prioritize the safety of its delivery executives.
