New Delhi: In a significant development for the food delivery giant Zomato, co-founder and chief people officer Akriti Chopra has announced her resignation from the company. Chopra, who has been an integral part of Zomato for over a decade, will be pursuing new endeavors.
The news of Chopra’s departure was confirmed by Zomato in an exchange filing. “Pursuant to Regulation 30 of SEBI Listing Regulations, we would like to inform that Ms. Akriti Chopra, Co-Founder & Chief People Officer designated as Senior Management Personnel (“SMP”), has tendered her resignation w.e.f. September 27, 2024,” the company stated.

Chopra’s journey at Zomato began in 2011 when she joined as a senior finance and operations manager. Over the years, she held various key positions within the company, including vice president of finance & operations and CFO. In 2020, Chopra took on the role of head of people development, and in June 2021, she was appointed chief people officer.
Prior to joining Zomato, Chopra worked at PwC. Her contributions to Zomato’s growth and success have been significant, and her departure will undoubtedly be felt by the company. While the reasons for Chopra’s resignation remain undisclosed, her decision to explore new opportunities outside of Zomato marks the end of a long and fruitful association with the food delivery platform.
