Viral Photo of Journalists in Flooded Delhi Press Club Sparks Mixed Reactions and Controversy

A viral image of journalists in the flooded Press Club of India has sparked mixed reactions online.
A photo of journalists enjoying drinks in a flooded Delhi Press Club has gone viral, sparking a heated debate. While some find the situation humorous, others criticize their nonchalance during the city's waterlogging crisis.

New Delhi: Delhi is currently grappling with severe rainfall, leading to widespread flooding across the city. However, amidst the chaos, a viral image has captured the internet’s attention, showing a group of journalists calmly seated in the flooded interiors of the Press Club of India (PCI) in Delhi. The photograph depicts the journalists enjoying their drinks while surrounded by water, presenting a striking contrast to the scenes of distress elsewhere in the city.

The image, reportedly first shared by ABP journalist Bijendra Singh, quickly spread across various platforms, garnering a mix of reactions from netizens. Some users found humor in the situation, while others expressed concern over the nonchalant attitude of the journalists in the face of a natural calamity.

However, the picture stirred controversy as well. In a Thursday morning tweet sharing a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation, allegedly between himself and Gautam Lahiri, the President of the PCI, Singh said that the picture might now lead to his expulsion from the club’s membership.

Meanwhile, the picture continued to create a buzz online with tweets pouring in. Some users praised the journalists for their resilience and ability to find humor in difficult circumstances.

Press Club of India or its Presiden Gautam Lahiri is yet to respond to Singh’s allegations. The story will be updated if and when they respond.
