New Delhi: Comedian and actor Vir Das, the first Indian to host the International Emmy Awards, is stepping onto the global stage with a new partner: Hush Puppies. The global footwear brand, retailed in India by Bata, has announced Das as its newest brand ambassador.
A new campaign film captures the essence of the partnership, showcasing Das preparing for the Emmys. In a humorous touch, he realizes he’s missing the perfect finishing touch – his shoes. After a brief search, he slips on his Hush Puppies, declaring himself ready to take on the Emmys.
“We are truly proud to have the incredibly talented Vir Das lead the brand conversation for Hush Puppies,” said Deepika Deepti, Head of Marketing at Bata India. “His unique style, on-the-move global lifestyle, ability to question the status quo, and humane values perfectly resonate with Hush Puppies’ promise of style and elevated comfort.”

Das, known for his witty humor, also commented on the partnership: “When Hush Puppies called, I thought, ‘Great, now even my shoes will have better timing than me.’ But seriously, shoes that look good, feel great, and share my love for comfort and dogs? It’s like they took my spirit animal and turned it into a shoe. Couldn’t be more thrilled to join the ‘bright side’!”
This collaboration comes at a significant moment for both Das and Hush Puppies. As Das breaks barriers in the entertainment industry, Hush Puppies reinforces its commitment to comfort and style for the modern, global individual.
