New Delhi: Varun Kohli has joined Times Network as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for its News Broadcasting Business, marking a significant addition to the media conglomerate’s leadership team. In his new role, Kohli will report directly to the Managing Director’s Office, collaborating closely with N Subramanian, Executive Director and Group CEO of Non-Publishing Business at Times Group.
Vineet Jain, Managing Director of Times Group, expressed his enthusiasm about Kohli’s appointment, stating, “We are pleased to welcome Varun to Times Network as the COO of our News Broadcasting Business. With his extensive experience in the industry, we anticipate Varun will bring innovative strategies to enhance Revenue Management and operational efficiencies, driving Times Network towards accelerated growth.”
Kohli brings nearly three decades of distinguished leadership in media, particularly in P&L and Operations Management within the Broadcasting sector. His reputation as a “Turnaround Man” stems from his track record of transforming media brands into profitable entities and his adeptness in fostering high-performance teams.

Prior to joining Times Network, Kohli served as Group CEO at iTV Network, overseeing a portfolio of 10 channels, two publications, and digital ventures. His career spans various prominent media houses including Network18, HT Media Ltd, and Amar Ujala Prakashan, where he held senior leadership positions.
Beyond media, Kohli has made significant contributions to sports management, notably in launching and managing successful seasons of Pro Wrestling League and Big Bout Boxing League. His multifaceted background across legacy brands, challenger brands, and start-ups underscores his versatile leadership style and strategic acumen.
