Star Sports Network and the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) announced the acquisition of broadcasting rights for the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024.

New Delhi: Esports fans in India, rejoice! The Star Sports Network has secured the broadcasting rights for the highly anticipated Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024, taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from July 3rd to August 25th. This massive tournament promises to be a landmark event, uniting global gaming communities and featuring the biggest names in Esports across an unprecedented 21 game titles.

A First-of-Its-Kind Tournament

The EWC 2024 boasts the largest prize pool ever seen in esports, a staggering $60 million (INR 500 crore). This eight-week extravaganza will crown champions in a unique, cross-game competition format, awarding prizes for individual game titles and overall club performance.

Star Sports Delivers Unparalleled Esports Experience

As the official broadcaster, Star Sports Network is committed to delivering comprehensive coverage of the EWC. Viewers will enjoy in-depth commentary in both English and Hindi, streamed live on Star Sports’ YouTube channel and broadcasted on linear television via Star Sports First and Star Sports 2.

This move by Star Sports further cements the growing popularity of esports in India. The network’s successful broadcast of the BGMI Masters series in 2022 is a testament to the vast Indian gaming audience.

The EWC will feature a diverse selection of the most popular esports titles across genres, including Call of Duty: Warzone, Dota 2, Counter-Strike 2, Overwatch 2, Apex Legends, Fortnite, EA Sports FC 24, and PUBG.

Here’s a quick breakdown of the broadcast schedule:

Opening Broadcast: Week 1, July 3rd at 10 PM IST – Call of Duty: Warzone in Hindi (SS First & SS YT Channel)
Weekly Schedule: Starting Week 3 (July 18th), EWC will air at 9 PM IST on SS2, SS First, and the SS YT Channel.
Hindi Commentary: Catch Call of Duty: Warzone (Week 1) and Counter-Strike 2 (Week 3) with Hindi commentary on SS First and the SS YT Channel.
