Pickleball is set to explode globally as PWR unveils World Rankings, Series, and Tour. The Times Group joins forces to make it happen.

New Delhi: In a groundbreaking announcement that promises to revolutionize the sport, Pickleball World Rankings (PWR), the PWR World Series, and the PWR World Tour were unveiled today. Backed by Pickleball League Asia Private Limited in partnership with The Times Group, this initiative aims to elevate pickleball to new heights of global recognition and participation.

The event, held in Dubai, marked a significant milestone for the sport, which has experienced unprecedented growth worldwide. The GCC region was chosen to host the inaugural PWR World Series in March 2025, underscoring its strategic importance in the sport’s expansion.

PWR’s vision is to create a unified structure for regional pickleball bodies, fostering better governance and ensuring the sport’s sustainable future. The announcement was made in the presence of PWR representatives, international pickleball officials, and top players, including women’s world number 1 Megan Fudge DeHeart.

Pranav Kohli, CEO and Founder of PWR, expressed his excitement about the initiative, stating, “Pickleball’s journey from backyard games to a global phenomenon is inspiring. We are honored to introduce the PWR World Rankings, Series, and Tour, which will provide a platform for players worldwide to showcase their talent and reach their full potential.”

PWR has committed a staggering USD $15 million in prize money for the PWR World Tour and USD $1.5 million for the GCC leg of the PWR World Series, setting a new benchmark for the sport. Kohli emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting both established stars and emerging talent.

Vineet Jain, Managing Director of The Times Group, expressed his pride in being an anchor investor in PWR, calling it a “path-breaking initiative” that unites the global pickleball community. Jain highlighted The Times Group’s history of innovation and its belief in pickleball’s potential to surpass tennis in terms of participation.

The GCC’s selection as the host for the first PWR World Series reflects the region’s growing influence in the sports landscape. Kohli praised the GCC’s ambition and visionary leadership, which align with the sport’s dynamic growth trajectory.

With celebrity endorsements from the likes of Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and Taylor Swift, pickleball has already captured the world’s attention. The launch of PWR is expected to further accelerate its global popularity and solidify its position as a major sporting phenomenon.
