MRSI announces Nitin Kamat as its new President.

New Delhi: The Market Research Society of India (MRSI), a leading industry body, has unveiled its new managing committee for the 2024-2027 tenure. The announcement took place at MRSI’s 36th Annual General Meeting held in Mumbai on June 27, 2024.

Taking the reins as the new president is Nitin Kamat, Chief Growth & Partnerships Officer at TAM Media Research. Kamat brings valuable experience to the role, having previously served as the treasurer for MRSI’s managing committee (2022-2024) and being part of the ISEC Committee. He succeeds Paru Minocha, Managing Director, South Asia, Insights Division at Kantar.

The newly formed committee boasts a well-rounded team with representatives from research agencies, research users, and service providers within the market research industry. Alongside Kamat, Puneet Avasthi and Shuvadip Banerjee were elected as vice-presidents, while Anila Vinayak assumed the role of secretary and Parijat Chakraborty was appointed treasurer.

The new leadership remains committed to upholding MRSI’s core values of promoting, protecting, and enhancing the highest quality standards across all market research domains. Their vision is to solidify India’s position as a powerhouse within the global market research landscape.

MRSI’s strategy going forward centers around capitalizing on its recent achievements. This includes fostering a more collaborative network for its members, facilitating knowledge and resource sharing, and nurturing the next generation of market research professionals. Additionally, the organization aims to instill a sense of pride in the impactful contributions made by the Indian market research industry.

Outgoing president Paru Minocha expressed her gratitude to MRSI members for their unwavering trust. Under her leadership, the launch of the ‘ISEC’ socio-economic classification system and the market sizing report for FY 2022-23 marked significant milestones for the association. She extended her best wishes to the incoming managing committee under Nitin Kamat’s guidance.

Nitin Kamat, upon assuming the role of president, acknowledged the significant transformations happening within the industry and emphasized the need to stay ahead of the curve. He outlined his vision to engage new talent, maintain existing standards, and implement innovative ideas and initiatives. Kamat believes “Building Trust” is another crucial pillar that the committee will prioritize alongside the existing focus on profile, pride, and network.

Strengthening global and government connections, and fostering active participation from regional players are key areas where he aims to make significant strides. With the support of the newly elected managing committee members, Kamat expressed confidence in achieving these ambitious goals.
