New Delhi: Crunchyroll, the world’s largest anime streaming service, has partnered with Spotify, the world’s most popular audio streaming platform, to launch a series of curated anime playlists and a dedicated shelf on Spotify’s Anime Hub.
The new playlists, curated by Crunchyroll, will feature a variety of anime music, from popular themes to lesser-known tracks. The partnership comes as anime culture continues to gain popularity worldwide, with global anime music streams on Spotify surging by 395% since 2021.
“Music is a vital part of the anime experience,” said Terry Li, Executive Vice President of Emerging Business, Crunchyroll & General Manager of Crunchyroll Games. “Through our partnership with Spotify, we’re excited to make fandom even more immersive for our fans.”

The curated playlists will include titles like “Crunchyroll Anime Essentials,” “The Broody Black-Haired MC,” “The Bubbly Pink-Haired BFF,” “The OP White-Haired Sensei,” and “The Journey Begins.” In addition to the playlists, the Anime Hub will also feature Crunchyroll’s new podcast, “Crunchyroll Presents: The Anime Effect Podcast.”
Kyota Onishi, Head of Music in Japan at Spotify, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We’re thrilled to offer fans a fresh selection of anime music to discover.”
Crunchyroll offers over 250 hours of Japanese music and performance videos by popular artists like LiSA and aimer. The partnership with Spotify is a significant step in making anime music more accessible to fans around the world.
