New Delhi: In 2024, Indian users turned to Alexa for a wide range of information and entertainment, from cricket scores and celebrity trivia to daily life queries, music streaming, and cooking inspiration.
Cricket dominated many of the questions, with users frequently asking “Alexa, when does the cricket match start?” and “Alexa, आज के match का score बताओ?” (Alexa, tell me today’s match score). Virat Kohli remained a top celebrity query, with users seeking details about his net worth, height, age, and spouse. Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit Sharma were also among the most inquired-about cricketers.
Bollywood stars and YouTubers also piqued user curiosity, with questions like “Alexa, how tall is Kriti Sanon?” and “Alexa, what is the net worth of Mr. Beast?” being frequently asked.
Daily life queries were prominent, such as “Alexa, आज का राशिफल बताओ” (Alexa, tell me today’s horoscope) and “Alexa, एकादशी कब है?” (Alexa, when is Ekadashi?). General knowledge questions like “Alexa, what is the population of earth?” and “Alexa, how far away is the sun from earth?” were also popular.
Users also interacted with Alexa on a more personal level, with phrases like “Alexa, कैसी हो?” (Alexa, how are you?) and “Alexa, I love you.”

Music remained a significant part of Alexa’s role in Indian homes. Arijit Singh, Pritam, Jubin Nautiyal, Diljit Dosanjh, Taylor Swift, and Badshah were among the most popular artists streamed via Alexa and Amazon Music.
Popular movie songs included “Abrar’s Entry – Jamal Kudu” (Harshavardhan Rameshwar & Choir), “Naacho Naacho” (Vishal Mishra & Rahul Sipligunj), “Illuminati” (Dabzee), and “Akhiyaan Gulaab” (Mitraaz).

In the kitchen, Alexa served as a valuable cooking assistant, with “Chai,” “Chilli Paneer,” and “Patiala Chicken” being the most frequently requested recipes.
