The streaming platform noted a 50% increase in users and a 64% rise in total views, with live views soaring by an impressive 350% compared to the early days of the Euro 2020 championship.
The opening match weekend of the 17th edition of UEFA EURO has set new records for Sony LIV, showcasing a 560% growth in key users aged 25 to 44. This demographic surge highlights the widespread appeal of the championship across India. West Bengal, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi have emerged as leading markets, contributing approximately 61.5% of the user base for Sony LIV.
Sony LIV’s success can be attributed to several innovative audiovisual features introduced ahead of the games. The platform’s implementation of ‘Star Cams,’ ‘Dugout Cams,’ and multi-language commentary has enhanced the viewing experience, driving higher engagement. These features have helped the current games surpass the benchmarks set by the previous edition.
Additionally, Sony LIV has seen a 164% growth in viewership through Connected TV, underscoring the increasing trend of digital consumption.
