New Delhi: In a significant move to tap into the digital age, the Uttar Pradesh government has introduced a new Digital Media Policy. The policy aims to promote the state’s achievements and schemes through online platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and X.
Under the policy, content creators and influencers on these platforms will be eligible for monthly payments based on their follower count. YouTube channels will receive Rs 8 lakh, Rs 7 lakh, Rs 6 lakh, or Rs 4 lakh per month, depending on their subscriber base. Similarly, Instagram and Facebook accounts will be categorized into four tiers, with monthly payments ranging from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh.
To ensure responsible content creation, the government has made it clear that legal action will be taken against individuals who post objectionable, vulgar, obscene, or anti-national content.
