The outage, which began around Sunday morning and lasted for approximately three hours, caused frustration for many music lovers.
According to Downdetector.com, a website that tracks online service outages, user reports peaked at over 40,000 during the height of the disruption. Users reported various issues, including the inability to stream new content, problems accessing playlists, and music playback stopping unexpectedly.
Fortunately, Spotify’s technical teams were able to resolve the issue within a few hours. By 3 PM ET, Downdetector reported less than 600 users still experiencing difficulties. Spotify acknowledged the outage on social media, stating, “Everything’s looking much better now!”
