New Delhi: In a significant development for India’s media and entertainment industry, the Information and Broadcasting (I&B) ministry has announced that the inaugural World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) will now be held in Mumbai in April 2025. The event was originally scheduled to take place in New Delhi in February.
Mumbai: The Entertainment Capital of India
According to I&B ministry officials, the decision to shift the venue to Mumbai was made strategically considering the city’s position as the heart of India’s entertainment sector. This move will provide logistical ease for stakeholders attending the summit.
“We have decided to hold the inaugural WAVES in Mumbai this April. The exact dates will be announced shortly,” confirmed an I&B official.
A Global Platform for Creative Collaborations
The WAVES Summit has garnered significant attention as a platform designed to elevate India’s position in the global content creation landscape. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself highlighted the summit’s importance during his December 2024 ‘Mann ki Baat’ address, calling it a crucial step towards establishing India as a content creation powerhouse.
