New Delhi: In a bid to promote mental health in the workplace, Asics has launched a Public Service Announcement (PSA) urging office workers to take regular movement breaks. A global study by Asics revealed a strong connection between sedentary behavior and declining mental wellbeing.
The PSA features actor Brian Cox as a terrifying boss, symbolizing the detrimental effects of prolonged desk work on mental health. Cox emphasizes the importance of breaking free from the sedentary lifestyle and incorporating movement into daily routines.
A Desk Break experiment conducted by Dr. Brendon Stubbs from King’s College London demonstrated the significant benefits of even short movement breaks. Participants who took 15-minute movement breaks experienced improvements in mental state, stress reduction, productivity, and focus.
