New Delhi: In a significant leadership transition, Diageo India today announced the appointment of Praveen Someshwar as its new CEO-designate. Someshwar, currently the Managing Director and CEO of HT Media, will assume this role on March 1, 2025. He will succeed Hina Nagarajan, who will transition to a new position within Diageo’s Global Executive Committee after four successful years as CEO of Diageo India.
Someshwar brings a wealth of experience in leading consumer-facing businesses to Diageo. At HT Media, he successfully oversaw a diverse portfolio of media outlets, including India’s second-largest newspaper, Hindustan Times, and the leading financial news outlet, Mint. Prior to his tenure at HT Media, he spent 24 years at PepsiCo, where he held various leadership positions across General Management, Finance, and Strategy in both India and the wider Asia Pacific region.
