New Delhi: India’s leading on-demand convenience platform, Swiggy, has officially launched its new bulk order service, the Swiggy XL EV fleet. Designed to efficiently handle large food orders, the fleet of electric vehicles was unveiled on the day of the Haryana elections, coinciding with a pilot run that began weeks earlier.
To commemorate its launch, the Swiggy XL EV fleet delivered 3,500 meals to electoral officials at over 580 polling booths in Gurugram and Badshahpur constituencies. This service was provided free of charge by Swiggy to the District Administration.
Speaking at the launch, Sidharth Bhakoo, National Business Head of Swiggy Food Marketplace, emphasized the growing demand for bulk orders, especially during festive seasons. He highlighted the role of food delivery services in fostering community and celebrations, making Swiggy XL a timely solution.

The service, which will be expanded to more cities in the coming weeks, utilizes a fleet of temperature-controlled electric vehicles. Bhakoo emphasized the environmental benefits of using electric vehicles, reducing the carbon footprint associated with multiple delivery trips.
On the inaugural day of the service, the Swiggy XL fleet served meals to officials on election duty in two of the largest constituencies in the Haryana state assembly. Dinker Vashisht, Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Swiggy, expressed the company’s pride in supporting the electoral process and contributing to the spirit of Indian democracy.
A fleet of 20 Swiggy XL EVs delivered three meals to officials over two days, providing essential sustenance during the demanding election period. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Gurugram Deputy Commissioner, commended Swiggy for their contribution to the electoral process and encouraged their continued involvement in civic initiatives.
