As the pursuit of the perfect shot on social media becomes increasingly risky, Canon India launches a campaign to promote safe photography practices. #CaptureWithCare #SafetyFirst #Photography.

New Delhi: In a bid to address the growing concern of accidents caused by social media-driven photography trends, Canon India has launched the #CaptureWithCare campaign. This initiative aims to remind photographers, especially young social media influencers, that safety should always be a top priority when pursuing the perfect shot.

The campaign comes amidst a surge in dangerous photography practices, driven by the desire for attention-grabbing content on social media platforms. Numerous incidents have been reported where individuals, often young people, have risked their lives for the sake of a viral photo or video. India, with its vast population and increasing internet penetration, is particularly susceptible to this trend.

In Uttarakhand, for instance, train track accidents have risen by 63% in the past two years, primarily due to the craze for selfies and Instagram reels. This alarming statistic underscores the urgent need for responsible photography practices.

To raise awareness about this issue, Canon India has devised a two-phase #CaptureWithCare campaign. The first phase involved creating buzz on social media platforms with witty one-liners. The second phase featured a powerful video showcasing the stark contrast between the beauty of photography and the potential dangers of unsafe practices.

The campaign’s message is clear: photography should be a celebration of life, not a cause for mourning. By promoting safe photography practices, Canon India hopes to inspire photographers to capture moments of beauty without compromising their safety or that of others.
