New Delhi: In a heartwarming initiative to highlight the city’s rich culinary heritage, Zomato has launched a campaign to honor Kolkata’s iconic street food vendors. As Durga Puja, one of India’s most celebrated festivals, approaches, Zomato aims to bring attention to the unsung heroes behind the city’s beloved street food scene.
To ensure that these culinary gems are not overlooked, Zomato has partnered with local artisans to create a unique artwork. A 300-meter-long Alpana, a traditional Bengali folk art form, has been unveiled in Newtown, Kolkata. This vibrant artwork showcases the names and locations of some of the city’s most renowned street food vendors, making it easier for food enthusiasts to discover and savor their delicious offerings.
The campaign is a testament to Zomato’s commitment to preserving and promoting local culinary traditions. By highlighting these often-overlooked vendors, Zomato is not only celebrating Kolkata’s rich gastronomic heritage but also empowering small businesses and encouraging people to explore the diverse flavors the city has to offer.
