New Delhi: In an effort to enlighten journalists on recent legislative changes, the Press Information Bureau’s Imphal Regional Office, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, organized a one-day media workshop titled “Vartalap” on Wednesday. The focus of the workshop was the “three new criminal laws” that have been recently introduced.
Held at the Manipur Press Club in Imphal, the event aimed to increase awareness and understanding of these new laws among journalists, enabling them to report more accurately and comprehensively. The workshop saw the participation of around 50 journalists from various media houses across Imphal and other districts of Manipur.
SP (Prosecution) Manipur, Haobam Sanghamita, served as the resource person for the workshop. Sanghamita provided detailed insights into the new laws, highlighting their implications and the changes they bring to the existing legal framework. Her session was designed to help journalists grasp the intricacies of the laws, ensuring that their reportage is both informed and precise.
