News Delhi: According to the BARC data released on Thursday for the Counting Week from June 1 to 7, Aaj Tak emerged as the most-watched Hindi news channel, leading the genre during the week, Exit Poll hours, Counting Day, and peak counting hours.
Weekly Dominance in Week 23
In Week 23 of 2024, Aaj Tak secured the top spot in the Hindi news segment with a commanding relative share of 14.5%. This performance placed it ahead of its competitors in the HSM markets for viewers aged 15 and above across all NCCS categories.
Following Aaj Tak, News18 India held the second position with a relative share of 12.6%. India TV was close behind in third place, capturing a 12.2% share. TV9 Bharatvarsh came in fourth with an 11% share, while Republic Bharat rounded out the top five with a 9.8% share.
Times Now Navbharat, News24, ABP News, Zee News, and News Nation completed the top ten, with relative shares of 9.2%, 7.4%, 6%, 5.6%, and 4.2%, respectively.
Counting Day Supremacy
On Counting Day, June 4, Aaj Tak reinforced its leadership with a significant relative share of 16.6%. News18 India retained its second-place position with a 13.2% share, while India TV remained steady at third with 11.6%.
TV9 Bharatvarsh secured the fourth spot again with a 10.6% share, followed by Republic Bharat at 8.5%. News24 edged out Times Now Navbharat for the sixth position, posting shares of 7.8% and 7.7%, respectively. ABP News increased its viewership share to 6.9%, while Zee News and News Nation recorded shares of 5.9% and 3.8%, respectively. Good News Today trailed slightly behind with a 4% share.
Peak Counting Hours Leadership
During the critical counting hours from 8 am to 12 noon on June 4, Aaj Tak achieved its highest viewership share of the week at 17.6%. News18 India continued to hold the second position with a 13.8% share.
India TV maintained third place with a 10.3% share, and TV9 Bharatvarsh remained fourth with 10%. ABP News rose to fifth during these peak hours with an 8.1% share, while Republic Bharat and News24 tied at 7.7% for sixth and seventh places. Times Now Navbharat and Zee News followed with shares of 7.4% and 6.8%, respectively.
Exit Poll Viewership
During the Exit Poll hours on June 1, Aaj Tak led with a 16.6% relative share. TV9 Bharatvarsh climbed to second with an 11.4% share, pushing News18 India to third with 11.1%. India TV was fourth with a 10.7% share, while Republic Bharat secured fifth with 10.5%.
Times Now Navbharat recorded a 9.9% share for sixth place, and News24 followed with 8.3%. Zee News edged out ABP News, posting a 7% share compared to ABP News’s 6.1%.
