New Delhi: Media mogul Rupert Murdoch has tied the knot for the fifth time at the age of 93, marrying his 68-year-old retired scientist girlfriend, Elena Zhukova. The couple’s union was confirmed by a smiling photograph published in ‘The Sun,’ one of Murdoch’s own publications.

The heartwarming image featured in the British tabloid shows Murdoch dressed in a suit complemented by a yellow tie, standing beside Zhukova, who looked radiant in a white dress. The pair’s joyful expressions captured the essence of their newly minted marriage.

Murdoch and Zhukova’s relationship blossomed over the past year, having been introduced by Murdoch’s third wife, Wendi Deng, during the summer of last year. This introduction set the stage for their courtship, leading to their recent nuptials.

This marks Murdoch’s fifth marriage. His previous union was with model and actress Jerry Hall, a marriage that lasted six years before ending in divorce in 2022. Murdoch’s marital history includes his first wife, Patricia Booker (1956-1967), his second wife, Anna Mann (1967-1999), and his third wife, Wendi Deng (1999-2013).

Murdoch made headlines last year when he announced his engagement to Ann Lesley Smith, a dental hygienist turned conservative radio host. However, the engagement was called off within a month, leaving many speculating about his romantic future.

Murdoch’s illustrious career began in 1950 in Australia, where he first made his mark in the media industry. In 1969, he expanded into the British market by acquiring ‘News of the World’ and ‘The Sun.’ His influence continued to grow as he purchased several prominent American publications, including the ‘New York Post’ and ‘Wall Street Journal.’

In 1996, Murdoch founded ‘Fox News,’ followed by the establishment of ‘News Corp’ in 2013. Last year, he officially retired, passing the reins of his media empire to his son, Lachlan Murdoch, while retaining the title of Chairman Emeritus.

As Murdoch embarks on this new chapter of his personal life, his legacy in the media world remains firmly established, marking an era of significant influence and remarkable achievements.
