New Delhi: The highly anticipated CNN-News18 Town Hall will return to Mumbai on September 27, bringing together a host of political leaders to discuss the future of Maharashtra ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. The event, titled “Road to Delhi via Mumbai?”, will take place at 6 PM and is expected to spark important conversations about the state’s political landscape.
Over the years, CNN-News18 Town Hall has become a significant platform for dialogue, hosting influential figures from politics, business, and entertainment. Previous editions have featured prominent personalities such as Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and renowned politicians like Shashi Tharoor and Aaditya Thackeray.
This year’s Town Hall will feature discussions that delve deep into critical issues affecting Maharashtra’s political scene. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will lead a session titled “Mahayuti’s Maharashtra Test,” where he will assess the future of the ruling coalition in the state. In a related session, Aaditya Thackeray from the Shiv Sena UBT will discuss his party’s strategy under the banner “Matoshree to Prove Its Might?”.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is expected to provide insights on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) electoral strategies in his session titled “Can BJP Get Its Math Right?”. Meanwhile, Supriya Sule from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will outline her party’s vision in a session called “Pawar-Play: Maha ‘Binding’ Factor?”. Aditi Tatkare, another key figure from the NCP, will also share her perspectives on the electoral landscape.

The event will not only feature political discussions but also cultural dialogues. Milind Deora and Priyanka Chaturvedi, both Rajya Sabha MPs from the Shiv Sena, will engage in a critical discussion on “Who is the Real Shiv Sena?”. Additionally, stars from the entertainment industry, including Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, will address the evolving dynamics of film distribution in their session titled “The New Reality of Theatrical vs OTT”.
