New Delhi: Cricket legend David Warner has donned a new hat, this time as a tourism ambassador for Australia. The former Australian opener has teamed up with Tourism Australia to promote the country’s diverse holiday destinations.
In a four-part social media series, Warner showcases his favorite Australian spots, including the vibrant laneways of Melbourne, the iconic Bondi Beach in Sydney, and the stunning Gold Coast. The series is specifically targeted at Indian audiences, coinciding with the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Tourism Australia Managing Director Phillipa Harrison expressed optimism about the partnership, stating, “David Warner remains incredibly popular in India, and we believe his recommendations will inspire Indian travelers to explore Australia.”

Warner echoed this sentiment, highlighting the country’s unique wildlife, coffee culture, and iconic landmarks as key attractions for Indian tourists.
To further strengthen ties with the Indian tourism industry, Harrison is leading a delegation of Australian tourism CEOs to India. The delegation will meet with key stakeholders, including airline partners Air India and IndiGo, and distribution partners MakeMyTrip and Thomas Cook, to explore opportunities for increased tourism.
Harrison emphasized the significant potential of the Indian market, noting its rapid economic growth and burgeoning middle class. By enhancing aviation connectivity between the two countries, Australia aims to attract more Indian tourists and boost its tourism industry.
